Wellingborough Norse awarded national scheme accreditation

February 2017

Wellingborough Norse is one of parent company Norse Commercial Services’ joint venture companies that has been accredited for Health and Safety compliance under the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS).

The scheme aims to set industry benchmarks to drive standards and make the world of work safer. The group has been accredited across 19 of its business units, including all 15 Joint Venture Companies with local authorities.

Simon Toseland, Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Director at Norse said: “Using CHAS gives us the confidence that a ‘minimum standard’ of health, safety and environmental management is being achieved by all of our contractors. We work with a broad range of ‘suppliers’ from small teams of local trades to larger, well-known names.

“For Norse being CHAS Accredited ourselves is also one of our key business objectives. We were therefore delighted to achieve Group Certification in February 2017. It was a real team effort and was an extremely worthwhile project for raising standards. It also helps ensure that health and safety remains a routine way of working within our operations.”
